Vintage Medical Equipment

For sale is a vintage, or possibly antique, Optikon Wetzlar 4359 Microscope. This piece comes with the original wooden dovetailed locking carrying case, which has 2 pull out lab tube drawers inside. The key works great easily locking and unlocking. Also you can have the working vintage light too (pictured in first two pictures). I highly doubt this originally came with the microscope, but it was inside of the case when I opened it, and I have no need for it… This microscope itself appears to either be rare or scarce, as there is really no information I could find regarding this model. Nor could I really find anything similar to this piece when researching Optikon online. Maybe it is made after 1990?? It doesn’t look like it, and the home this piece came from was full of antiques and older pieces. In fact, the original owners I bought this piece from were once both doctors (now retired), and their parents were doctors too…. She was a pathologist and he was a pediatrician. (they had a story about everything I bought, in which they personally used or did something with). This microscope comes with 4 attached lenses/objectives. They read Kohler Wetzler Germany on them, and the numbers/letters on the sides are as follows. OEL 100/1.30. 45:1 Ap. 10:1 Ap. 5:1 Ap. The microscope is adjustable both leaning back, and the eyepiece raises up and down. The eyepiece is marked Weitfeld 10X. From my point of view this piece looks to be in very nice vintage condition. I do not see why it would not work just how it should. Maybe a little adjusting here and there? A little bit of minor cleaning might possibly be needed, or a little bit of very minor wear found in a place or two. If you are looking to display this piece, the.
