Excluding weekends and holidays. Fine example of a high quality 20th Century microscope, complete with 2 eyepiece lenses and 4 objective lenses. The microscope and base are made mostly of iron with all chrome and guide points being solid brass. The substage is also mostly brass. The head numbered 2788 has stereo eyepiece tubes with one being adjustable. The distance between tubes is also adjustable with the knob between them. The head is adjusted by the rack and pinion knobs directly behind it. Just below that is the working fine adjustment with a ratio of 1=0.002mm. The microscope has a Quad revolving nose piece which allows for all included objective lenses to be fitted. It rotates around so you can select the appropriate magnification for what you wish to study. It has a round fully adjustable (x, y and rotate) stage with an adjustable specimen clamp numbered 16081. Please note that the x/y adjustment appears to be missing a tooth in the center position and slips. All other adjustments work correctly. This sub-stage moves up and down by a rack and pinion system and a knob below the stage. Below this there is an adjustable aperture ring and the whole ring also adjusts back an forwards on its staging by rolling a knob along a rack and pinion. The aperture is in very good working condition. The whole microscope tilts backwards from an upright position. It is stamped on the back of the base with the makers name and serial number ; REICHERT. The microscope comes with 2 eyepiece lenses, both Reichert Wien S 250 at 16x. The microscope comes with 4 objectives, all Reichert Wien at 10x, 45x, 60x, & 100x. The microscope appears to be in good working order and I have set it up and tested it with a few old slides. The optics are clear and the microscope focuses well but I’m sure the lenses would probably benefit from a clean. The microscope is far from new so please don’t expect the optics to be like a new microscope. The microscope measures approximately 13 tall when not extended. I have done my best to describe every element of really a rather complex microscope. The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions at all please ask. To provide you with clear and accurate pictures.
