This belonged to my mother, who was a Midwife at Walsall Manor Hospital. Mom retired in the late 90s and I think that this time period is when this was from. The barrel of the stethoscope I stamped. Lipmanns Made in the USA. The Stethoscope has been tested and is in excellent working order and good condition. Please ask for overseas. This case, which appears to be made of leather, was used for many years by a doctor, or more likely a midwife, when visiting patients. It has a fitted interior and was designed to hold, for instance, a portable sterilising unit with spirit burner which is currently for sale in my Shop. A number of other items, including a set of obstetric forceps, that were originally part of the kit stored in this case, can also be found in my Shop. The case probably dates from the 1930s40s. Its dimensions are 460 x 280 x 125mm (18 x 11.25 x 5). As the photographs show, there is a removable fitted tray inside. Condition is generally good. In any event, it is in good condition, except for a small portion of the hinge see photo. The two latches need cleaning and oiling they stick but they do work and do lock (90° twist), but there are no keys. The handle is still sound, but shows signs of deterioration on the underside.
