Stable, easy-to-use microscope, mostly for use by students of medicine and biology. Comes in original box (the box lock is broken) Has some minor damage to the paint and scratches on the case. Excellent optical performance due to clean, clear Japanese optics, without scratches or fungus. Includes eyepiece and 3 objectives 10x, 40x and 100x, cases for objectives with original holders. The top part of the microscope is a little loose, not sure if its supposed to be that wayEquipped with a cross-table, which moves the preparations very precisely in two directions on the horizontal part. The table can also be adjusted in height manually and is lockable. Coarse/fine focusing with slip. Everything runs smoothly without slack. The piece is heavy, so please act accordingly. For sale here is a vintage Olympus Photomax microscope in very good cosmetic condition with light wear and tear from use evident. Seems to be all original with the exception of one of the knobs for moving stage. The lamp house includes a bulb. No power supply for the lamp or for the internals of the microscope are included. The image is sharp. All controls go through their motions. It will need to be cleaned and lubed for optimum performance. Included are what is shown in the many photos. It is in working condition, but the lenses (Olympus GX 10) need to be cleaned. The external light works as seen in the pic. Power supply that dims the light shows scratches, but the unit itself is in excellent condition. Label on the base indicates Stockton State College with initials scratched as well. Comes with the box and it is in good condition. Everything appears to be working, such as the swivel, zoom, part that raises and lowers the unit and the like. I don’t believe there is a light located at the bottom part (white circle plate). I don’t see a switch. It will need attention to proper cleaning. The item(s) you see is what you will receive.
