For sale here is a vintage American Optical Spencer microscope in fair cosmetic condition. It has components included for transmitted polarized light or petrographic analysis. It is has wear and tear from use evident, including some finish loss on the main barrel. Seems to be all original, though some pieces are missing. As far as I can tell it is missing objectives, a light source or mirror, and slide clips. All controls go through their motions properly. The microscope should be cleaned and lubed internally for optimum performance. Included are what is shown in the photos. It has wear and tear from use evident, including some finish loss on the main barrel, and ID marks inscribed on the front of the main barrel as well. As far as I can tell this microscope is missing objectives, a light source or mirror, and slide clips. Also, the objective holder on the microscope barrel is a bayonet-type mount so you will need to supply the half of the mount that fixes to the objective. It does have the rotating polarizing condenser filter, analyzer slide, and polarizing barrel. Also it includes the rotating graduated stage, an 8x eyepiece with cross hairs, and its original wooden storge box. The box has a handle with only one end attached and does not have a key. All microscope controls go through their motions properly. This scope has been in storage for a long time and should be cleaned and lubed internally for optimum performance.
