Nice looking Antique Stethoscope with a great colour and patina. Dating from around the 1860 period and made of a Fruitwood, probably Pear Wood looking. In the middle of the shaft you can see a slightly darker area, this is where its been held and used. So many times over the years. A nice little sign of its true age. This type of one ear stethoscope was invented in 1816 for doctors to listen to patients hearts. In fantastic condition with no splits in the wood or scratches and dents. Measures 25.5cm long x 6cm wide. A great addition to any collection.

Great lot from the Goodnight family of Caldwell, TX. Lot includes all items pictured. Items are in varying degrees of condition, most are just great display items and should not be used for any health care. Please review all photos carefully. Please view the images for approximate sizes. This is a lot from a huge collection of memorabilia spanning the late 1800s to 1960s, encompassing the famous Goodnight and Allen families who lived and ranched in Texas. They did not know anything more than is seen in the photos and documentation, and could not pinpoint where the items came from. I do not have any more information other than what you see and read. We will be listing all the lots in the coming days. OR search our store for the term “GN”. We do not end auctions early. Any new item will be unused. The box or packaging may show substantial wear from storage, but the item inside will be new. The pictures are the biggest part of the description.
