Up for sale is a nice vintage Sugar Babe Diabetic Testing Doll from 1978 made by Medic Tex for educational purposes. She has many red dots for showing kids a friendly way how to get insulin shots. There is also blue on her shoes, arms, and hands. The case is marked Sugar Babe on the top. The case is dark blue and does have several scuffs, tears. She is rare but I did find a small article on her. There are 10 alcohol preps, 2 sodium chlorine bottles that are half full, 4 tes-tape with 2 instructions, and 1 glucose tablet. This is an fabulous first quality vintage 20.5 tall hard plastic anatomical model. Made by the world renowned Somso Company of Germany in the 1960s. The plastic is high quality, durable and strong. It has held up great over the years. The base is marked Somso and the underside says Made in Germany. This model happen to be a young man, although there are not any genitalia to speak of! He is 20.5 tall including the muted green plastic base he stands upon. From shoulder to shoulder he measures 8 wide. He weighs just about 6 lbs. He is beautifully crafted and hand painted in lifelike colors. His eyes are closed in a peaceful repose. Inside his abdomen is a puzzle of seven organs that fit neatly into the cavity. All are finely detailed and numbered. The total number of parts is 9 including his torso, 2 lungs, a two part heart, a lovely and healthy looking liver, a kidney, a stomach and a huge intestine. A spectacular high quality piece worthy of a museum or university. He is beautiful and in very good shape for a 50 something. You will love him! He is in overall excellent shape with very minimal wear. He is missing one of the metal knobs on his lung. Please look at all of the photos for condition.
