Although a little tardy with dust and dried carriage lubricant this microscope is in fantastic condition. I can’t give you an accurate estimate of the last time it was used but it’s been a while. It would need a clean and probably a re grease of the little wheels that move parts about but the mechanics of it are in excellent condition with only the movement of the wheel to change the lens choice magnification from 2.5x to 10x being very stiff. The 2.5x lens moves fine but the 10x lens requires persuasion. Also I’m sure there should be an end weight on the boom to balance the microscope when the optics are extended to their maximum position but we have had a good look for it and have been unable to find it. Optically it’s fine but I would guess that the eyepieces would require a clean. Apart from that it’s a excellent piece of vintage microscopy.
