You are looking at a fine and rare Leitz “Minor” microscope. This was made in the 1920′s for traveling scientists who needed a lightweight very small, but useful, microscope. It was designed specifically with Botany and Entomology in mind, so it sports a flip lens to get between magnifications, and two eyepieces. I forget what the magnifications are, but they don’t include what you get with a 1/12 lens. This one is in decent condition, and the so is the case. The optics are a little dirty, probably not perfect if you are a perfectionist, but appear free of scratches and fungus; it has been used and cared for intelligently and carefully. As you can probably tell from the case, it has been kept in a climate-controlled environment throughout its’ existence.
