About The Poster: The genius of Cappiello’s style lies in the simple, direct and graphically balanced manner in which his compositions deliver the message. In an age dominated by industry and machine, a poster such as this one – classical in spirit and aesthetically serene – would surely have grabbed attention. In this case, an anonymous nurse, sitting amongst compresses, cylinders of cotton wool balls, gauze and the like, gracefully unswathes a roll of bandages. Leonetto Cappiello is considered to be one of the greatest posterists of his age. Cappiello’s approach was always image association – the idea that you don’t really remember the image of the product itself, but the image of something is associated with the product… Cappiello was the first who thoroughly understood this, and he applied it with considerable diligence in about a thousand posters. Please’follow’ us as we’ll be adding new items every week. Offered for sale is this vintage, doctor’s medical bag. The leather is in excellent shape with no tears, somewhat stiff from age. The interior is clean and unmarked. We do not know the specific medical uses of all the equipment, please see photos for details. Any of the medication tubes, bottles, etc. Are empty or if there are any bit of contents left, should not be used. We don’t know whether the medical equipment is in working condition, therefore we sell the bag with all of its contents “AS-IS”. The bag measures approximately 14″ x 6″ x 6.
