The case is 4″ long and just under 1.5″ in diameter. This is a rare old piece of medical equipment and there are a couple of these on display in Museums like the Smithsonian. Exactly it’s purpose is not clear. It could be used as a mold to make suppositories. It could be used to insert them but it is not clear how it would work since there is no plunger to push the suppository out of the holder. From the estate of a medical doctor.

A very rare and completely intact piece of vintage medical equipment – a suction machine. It would be perfect as medical office decor or give this as a gift for a doctor or a future doctor gift. Everything is in place on this including rubber tubing. Both bottles are in perfect condition, with the tops included. The powder blue color would look fantastic as decor in a medical office or home featuring antiques. This is a heavy piece, weighing in at over 11 pounds.
This one was taken no newer than 1880 or so. On the reverse is written, in early script, Charlie Dewitt Richer. Age 11 months when dead. He looks about 6 – 8 months old in the picture, or taken no more than 3 months before his death.
