Made by Gilbert Specialties from Michigan City, Indiana and owned by a local doctor here in Vermont. Very well made with many precision adjustments and interesting features. Includes the metal case which doubles as a table, metal stirrups with cloth straps which install into the table, wooden cover plate with very interesting instructions printed on it (more inside the case), speculum light that plugs into the side of the case and connects to a battery pack there, rubber mat made to lay out under the case and protect the stirrups during transport, and rubberized carrying case. It measures 27 x 15 x 4 inches in the case and weighs 23 pounds. A great piece for vintage medical equipment collectors and could be re-purposed for modern uses as well. In remarkably good shape considering it’s almost 100 years old. Rubber is still pliable, straps are excellent – one clamp has a little rust on it but doesn’t affect functionality – see close up pic. The speculum light cord is shot I think but may still work with new batteries installed – I haven’t tried – could be easily rewired. The battery holder, wiring and connections in the case seem excellent. Metal case is excellent – hinges and clip work. Carrying case is a little rougher but still works great.
