Vintage Sargent-Welch Scientific Co. Anatomical Mini Human Male Torso Model. Extremely Rare and Hard-to-Find! This medical/health teaching tool was rescued from being discarded at an elementary school several years ago. It was no longer included in the curriculum and kept in storage for several decades. There is no date on it, but judging from its appearance, construction, and craftsmanship, Id assume it is from the late 1940s/1950s. It is made from a lightweight material, possibly clay, and hand painted with exquisite detail. This model was intended to aide in the understanding of the bodys main organs and the cutaway on the males torso contains the brain, lungs, liver, stomach, and intestinal system. The six pieces are detachable and held in place with inner magnets. Although it does show some signs of minor wear (contact rubs, chips and edge wear/paint loss mainly on the removable organs), the imperfections are minor. On the rear of the gray base, the letters CMG 1 was written in permanent marker. Overall, for its age, it is in fantastic condition and the paint is glossy and vivid like new.
