Brain Anatomical Model Vintage Made in West Germany, $1,201. New

This SOMSO model of the human brain was briefly used by a psychiatric professional for demonstrations purposes. It is in excellent condition with all parts present and only very minor signs of use. No chips, cracks, scratches, etc. The brain can be removed from the skull in 8 separate pieces. Various blood vessels, nerves, etc. Are identified and labeled on the various pieces of the model. These metal-framed surgical eyeglasses seem to have a fixed telescope. Overall, the condition is good for its age. The original foam inside of the wooden box is aging but still intact. The telescopic lenses have some minor small scratches or pitting. The inside, top right of the frame is marked 46-22. The doctor’s name is on both the box and the frame. Vintage model by SOMSO. Model, Measures 8.75″ x 7 “x 7, weights 3 1/2 lbs. Made in WEST GERMANY. Deluxe Brain in Half Head. Somso Lung Microstructure Anatomical Model Vintage Made in Germany

Hard to find Somso lung module. In very good shape for collector or school setting. Marked Germany on bottom. Different tissues are numbered. All colors seem true with limited worn spots or Sun fading. A lot of detail went into the different tissue representations. Overall a great piece. Lung is smoke free. From a catalogue: Arteries and veins are displayed with both bronchi and bronchioles connecting to alveolar ducts, color-coded elastic fibers, smooth muscle, mucous membranes, and cartilage. The back of the model diagrams the circulation within the lobule and the pleura. The model is mounted on a stand and can be removed for closer examination. Size: 9L x 7W x 17H.
