Vintage Ritter Imperial Columbia Dentist Chair Barber Tattoo Parlor Hydraulic. This is great chair from probably the late 1800′s or early 1900′s. The history is fantastic, came straight from a Dental Office in rural Caledonia Minnesota. The chair goes up and down like it should. Headrest moves like it should. Swivels great and all levels work. Extremely heavy and very well built. It had use, no doubt but the Patina is great, nobody will mistake this for a replica. Goes up to 47 tall. Flat foot rest is 13″ x 12″. 2 Bars on the foot rest. This Ritter Dental Chair Base seems to be fully functional. The hydraulics work smoothly. In it’s tallest position the top reaches to 34 tall. In the lowest position it is about 15 tall. Some of the oil leaked out when I was moving it. That is the oil you are seeing on it. Overall the piece looks like an excellent candidate for restoration. This item is very heavy. It still heats up and the valve for the water tank works ok. Light comes on in the panel when its heating. It does need a chromed pin or bolt put in where the foot pedal mechanism hooks to the lid up top—you can see I have a big center punch sticking in it right now for the pictures. Also the damper still works to put the lid down slow. It is 115 volts, 1230 watts. Wiring looks good and someone added a ground wire. It stands 34″ tall to the top of the cabinet–37″ to the top of the hinge, 19″ wide, 15 1/2″ deep with it being 18 to where the foot pedal sticks out. This is an extremely rare and very well made antique dental chair, stand, light and tool set. This would be an amazing piece for a museum, dental office, shop or man cave! This is a recent estate find and is one of the coolest items we have ever found. This is fully adjustable and is comfortable too. The head rest really cups your head nicely. This is all original and has a great patina. We just wiped it down a bit and could use some more cleaning. All tools and lights are untested. The hydraulic pump on the chair needs adjusted to work right as well. I believe this is from the 20′s or 30′s and is a true antique.
