A REMARKABLE EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY STERLING SILVER MONAURAL EAR TRUMPET STETHOSCOPE. The trumpet rim is 4cm in diameter. Weight is 55 grams. The slender tapered tube stem has an enclosed trumpet’mouth’ with small cental aperture. Apparently used by medical practitioners to listen to heartbeat whilst maintaining an appropriate distance. Hallmarked for London, 1917. Maker’s mark of D J Wellby. In very good and clean condition without damage.
