OLD XRAY meter WAITE BARTLETT STATIC 1890S vintage MEDICAL equipment. From what I can find on google, this is a. Its a milli -ampere meter. It was made from brass that has beautifully tarnished and has a glass bezel. This is a X ray meter , from what i can find out. This is the meter off a very large machine. Label on the face was hand drawn in ink done with calligraphy, likely a prototype. The example I did find on google had an engraved face on the gauge. It has a need clamp to hold thwe needle when not in use. The feet are threaded to level the gauge. The wire connections are there to fasten the wires to the gauge. It measures 4 1/4 in diameter across the face and 2 5/8 tall with the adjustable feet turned all the way up. These charges are the BUYERS responsibility, and are imposed by the BUYERS country and not charged by me. And international laws so please don’t ask. I powered it on and took a picture of it (#2) but didn’t want to press a bunch of buttons and ruin it. The case itself is about 23″ x 17″ x 7 The buttons are skull, abdomen, extrem, cervical, chest, lumbar, special, thorax, non bucky, bucky 1, bucky 2, etc. There was one red wire seen that is not connected. Harvey Picker (December 8, 1915 March 22, 2008) was an American businessman, educator, inventor, and philanthropist. He was the founder, along with his wife, Jean, of the Boston-based Picker Institute, whose goal was to promote patient-centered healthcare. Picker’s father, James, founded Picker X-ray, which was acquired by General Electric Co. Of England in 1981, which produced air-dropped X-ray labs for the Army in World War II and the Korean War. The younger Harvey led the company into such pioneering fields as cobalt treatment for cancer and ultrasound and nuclear imaging diagnostics. He worked briefly in the diplomatic service, taught political science at Colgate University. Picker believed that the American health care system was technologically and scientifically outstanding, but overall was not sensitive to patients’ concerns and their comfort. Thus, in 1986, they founded the Picker Institute a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing a patient-centered approach to healthcare and in 2000 founded the Picker Institute Europe. Jean Picker, who died in 1990, served as a U. Delegate to the United Nations and was a journalist for Life Magazine. The Picker Institute ceased operations in January 2013.
