Vintage SOMSO AS40 Female Torso with Head Art Anatomical Model. This model has some fire damage to the breast piece but is otherwise complete and a great hand painted model from Germany. This is a very expensive rare model that has been significantly discounted due to damage. Natural size, in SOMSO-Plast®. The thoracic and abdominal wall can be removed. Separates into 13 parts: eye, halves of the lungs (2), heart (2), liver, stomach, duodenum with small and large intestine, half of the kidney, internal genital organs with urinary bladder (2), torso. Antique Vintage 1920′s Brass E. Leitz Wetzlar Micropscope Set with Wooden Box

Optics seem ok, need cleaning. One lens isn’t original. Tilts and holds well. Focus knobs work smooth. The top of the box has a piece that needs to be glued back on. Left and right sides of the box warped out slightly due to the missing top piece being loosed. Door has a couple of old plug repairs on it as shown. Everything I have is shown in the pictures. Vintage Antique Picker X Ray Machine Rare Find X-Ray Doctor XRay

Up for sale is a very rare Picker XRay machine. We have not tested fully but we did power up the unit and it did power up. Harvey Picker (December 8, 1915 March 22, 2008) was an American businessman, educator, inventor, and philanthropist. He was the founder, along with his wife, Jean, of the Boston-based Picker Institute, whose goal was to promote patient-centered healthcare. Picker’s father, James, founded Picker X-ray, which was acquired by General Electric Co. Of England in 1981, which produced air-dropped X-ray labs for the Army in World War II and the Korean War. The younger Harvey led the company into such pioneering fields as cobalt treatment for cancer and ultrasound and nuclear imaging diagnostics. He worked briefly in the diplomatic service, taught political science at Colgate University. Picker believed that the American health care system was technologically and scientifically outstanding, but overall was not sensitive to patients’ concerns and their comfort. Thus, in 1986, they founded the Picker Institute a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing a patient-centered approach to healthcare and in 2000 founded the Picker Institute Europe. Jean Picker, who died in 1990, served as a U. Delegate to the United Nations and was a journalist for Life Magazine. The Picker Institute ceased operations in January 2013.
