Vintage Medical Equipment, Sterilizer, Prometheus Autoclave 1946

This vintage medical equipment sterilizer / autoclave is from the 1940s. It measures 8-1/2″ long x 3-1/4 ” wide x 3-3/4 high overall including the lid. This unit has has a heavy duty electrical cord which is in very good condition. This cord has an on and off switch. There are brackets on the inside that keep the tray level as it is raised and lowered into the bath. Nice nickel plating with some tarnishing. When plugged in, the unit heats up nicely. It weighs approximately 7 pounds. This vintage small, working Prometheus electric instrument sterilizer was used in a podiatry/chiropodist practice between 1946 and 1965. 1940s Vintage RARE Model Pelton Steam Autoclave 4 Doctors Physicians Hopsitals

Overall condition is good! I did not attempt to clean the unit but we did plug it in and test it and it still fires up and works great. The knob moves fine and so does the other button that pushes in. They are a little wobbly but still very much functional. Theres a dent on the top near the left side of the unit which you can see in the photos.
