Recently in process of cleaning out my antique &art gallery. After 30 some years must close. I had bought it out of doctors collection. This even has the original paper directions. Not sure of exact age but very old. What is great is that it is in good shape with items inside and nice metal closure. Approx 2” high with a length of 13” and a width of 4”. Genuine leather case containing reflex hammer, syringe case, tracheotomy kit, emergency instructions booklet, and other instruments designed for the pocket medical kit. Almost all pieces are included. The stethoscope tubing is missing (rotted from age). This is a vintage item meant for display rather than actual medical use. It was a graduation gifts for my husband upon completion of medical school at UTMB, Galveston. This would be s nice display with the medical bag I also posted. Terry graduated in 1970. Was a USAF flight surgeon in Zaragoza Spain. He practiced medicine in Austin and Killeen (Fort Hood) Texas. He died this year from Pulmonary Fibrosis. We are so pleased to offer you this amazing piece of Dental history out of the Grand Rapids Michigan area! At one time, this fabulous piece functioned to help Dentists and dental patients. Then it had a second life as a chair for a barber in the Grand Rapids area. He acquired it because his neighbor installed Dental Equipment for a local company in Grand Rapids at the time. This chair came out of a dental office in the area back in the 1960′s. The gentleman that used it, removed the headrest at some point and used it to cut hair in his basement for family and Friends. Those two lives are now passed and it is ready for a new home and new life in a man cave or even a living room for a dentist or dental assistant. Or, maybe you’re a hairdresser or barber and want to put smiles on your clients face with this fun piece of history. As you can see from the pictures this piece has been well cared for. With the exception of it missing the headrest, I’m not sure you’ll find one in this kind of condition. That chair was in worse condition overall but did have the headrest. So we are open to reasonable offers. It may also interest you to know it is already on a dolly and ready to move from a location on a main floor.
