OLYMPUS PHOTO-MAX VINTAGE GREAT SHAPE W POWER SUPPLY. INCLUDES 5 OBJECTIVES 35MM KODAK CAMERA AND MOUNT. OLDER CAMARAS NOT TESTED. Look at all pictures. Released in 1966, the Photomax (LB) was the flagship microscope of the postwar period. This model had a fully automated photographic device, a color temperature adjustment function for color photography, and an ideal color illumination system all built into the microscope. Mounting of a standard unit on the main body allowed users to select from three types of microscopes designed for biological, metallographic, and polarization microscopy. Every type of specimen could be observed using accessories such as fluorescent, dark field, and phase contrast microscopy. For photographic needs, an auto-winding 35mm camera was offered, as well as devices for large-format 4×5 film, Polaroid Land, Mamiya roll film, and dry plates. To take pictures, users simply focused on the specimen through the binocular section, as they no longer needed to deal with the framing work. The photographer looked through the field of view eyepiece to take pictures according to the size of the film used. With fully automatic exposure control and fully adjustable color-temperature correction, the model allowed taking photographs for a variety of purposes. For sale here is a vintage American Optical Spencer microscope in fair cosmetic condition. It has components included for transmitted polarized light or petrographic analysis. It is has wear and tear from use evident, including some finish loss on the main barrel. Seems to be all original, though some pieces are missing. As far as I can tell it is missing objectives, a light source or mirror, and slide clips. All controls go through their motions properly. The microscope should be cleaned and lubed internally for optimum performance. Included are what is shown in the photos. Please check out all the photos in this ad for the best idea of cosmetic condition and what is included. Vintage American Optical Spencer POL Polarized or Petrographic Microscope. It has wear and tear from use evident, including some finish loss on the main barrel, and ID marks inscribed on the front of the main barrel as well. As far as I can tell this microscope is missing objectives, a light source or mirror, and slide clips. Also, the objective holder on the microscope barrel is a bayonet-type mount so you will need to supply the half of the mount that fixes to the objective. It does have the rotating polarizing condenser filter, analyzer slide, and polarizing barrel. Also it includes the rotating graduated stage, an 8x eyepiece with cross hairs, and its original wooden storge box. The box has a handle with only one end attached and does not have a key. All microscope controls go through their motions properly. This scope has been in storage for a long time and should be cleaned and lubed internally for optimum performance. Wonderful Condition Makes this and Excellent Item for. Comparison Bridges such as this “link” two microscopes together so that a split view, one from each microscope is visible in the same field of view.
