Vintage Somso Germany 20.5 Anatomical Torso Educational Medical Model

This is an fabulous first quality vintage 20.5 tall hard plastic anatomical model. Made by the world renowned Somso Company of Germany in the 1960s. The plastic is high quality, durable and strong. It has held up great over the years. The base is marked Somso and the underside says Made in Germany. This model happen to be a young man, although there are not any genitalia to speak of! He is 20.5 tall including the muted green plastic base he stands upon. From shoulder to shoulder he measures 8 wide. He weighs just about 6 lbs. He is beautifully crafted and hand painted in lifelike colors. His eyes are closed in a peaceful repose. Inside his abdomen is a puzzle of seven organs that fit neatly into the cavity. All are finely detailed and numbered. The total number of parts is 9 including his torso, 2 lungs, a two part heart, a lovely and healthy looking liver, a kidney, a stomach and a huge intestine. A spectacular high quality piece worthy of a museum or university. He is beautiful and in very good shape for a 50 something. You will love him! He is in overall excellent shape with very minimal wear. He is missing one of the metal knobs on his lung. Please look at all of the photos for condition. Nice Somso Tapeworm Anatomical Model. This model enables comparison of the pork tape-worm, Taenia solium with the beef tape-worm. Taenia saginata, enlarged many times, in SOMSO-Plast. The model illustrates: egg, cysticercus, some final segments in natural size and enlarged segments in varying degrees of maturation. In one piece, on a base plate. Size: 24″ X 15″ X 4. All Somso Models are Hand Painted by Artists in Germany. These models are the most detailed and accurate of any anatomical models available, sought after by educators, medical professional’s, artist’s, and collectors.
