Ive owned several, but this is the first Ive had that is this interesting. There are multiple dissected sections that have been hinged so they can be opened and closed for examination. You can take the top of the skull off, then the jaw and finally separate the remaining portion into two halves. If you look closely, you will see that even the right front tooth has been dissected. Overall very good condition. All springs, snaps and screws are present and secure. This is a used/vintage/antique item. It is not perfect. It does show some signs of wear. There are all different pieces… Glass syringes, trocars, large metal 3-finger syringes, an original. Leather case with a few instruments (leather is not in the greatest condition) and a glass. Vintage University Lab Wooden Microscope Slide Cabinet 12 Drawer 100 Slot Trays. Offered here is a vintage slide cabinet. It was removed from a major university lab. It comes as pictured. We do not know the maker name. It has 12 drawers. Each drawer is designed to hold 100 slides. Drawer 5B is missing the aluminum slide inserts so it can’t hold slides. Drawer 6B is missing the insert on one side so it will only hold 50 slides. The unit stands 18 1/4 inches tall, 9 1/4 inches wide and 10 1/4 inches deep. It has a bottom pull out tray. A phoropter is used by the ophthalmologist and can measure refractive error to determine the correct lens. The patent number and patent date are stamped on the phoropter. It is in good condition! The metal handle can be removed if you would rather have the phoropter alone. Overall it measures approximately 23l x 4w x 11.5h. Phoropter (Refractor), ophthalmic instrument for the measurement of refractive error and binocular function comprising two circular black enamel cases each holding four rotating discs of positive and negative spherical lenses connected to a central stem with adjusting screws for levelling and interpupillary distance. The central stem is designed for attachment to a floor or wall stand. Attached to the front are: (1) a pair of lens clips for supplementary lenses that are rotatable for cylindrical lenses, (2) a pair of Risley prisms, (3) a pair of Maddox rods and (4) a Stevens’ phorometer. It is engraved on the back MADE IN USA PAT’D 7-18-1922 and on the front DE ZENG STANDARD CO / CAMDEN N J MAKERS. This is a very early refractor designed in 1922. The designer, Henri DeZeng, was a prolific inventor of many eye and ear, nose and throat instruments but his first love was the ophthalmoscope. This is reflected in his many patents. He made the first practical electric ophthalmoscope, the first with a non-corrosive mirror, the first with illuminated lens indicating numbers and the first commercially produced ophthalmoscope with a battery contained in the handle.
