Mawson & Sons of London, 1800s vintage medical equipment Enema Syringe. Device is 11 x 2. These were used by doctors, but at the time barbers also provided various medical services. Dates to the mid to late 1800′s for the injection of various fluids into the rectum for the treatment of constipation. A blunt tip reduced the risk of injury to the rectum. Looks like it is cast bronze. A unique addition to any medical equipment collection.

It was produced in the 1930′s. The wonderful Bakelite turtle shell finish makes this a great decor piece. It has a single crack in the Bakelite on one side. It is strictly for decor and is NOT in working condition.
