An early head mirror, this is a fine example of the simple diagnostic device that was used in the early years of the mid-20th century, c1920-50. Used mostly for examination of the ear, nose and throat. The head band is large and plastic with ventilation holes and an adjustable panel in metal. The mirror is concave. It would have been worn down with the hole at the mirror’s center directly over the doctor’s eye. The head band is set to 22″ circumference and 2″ wide at its widest points. The mirror has a diameter of 3 1/2. Each part of this piece is clean, in very good condition and still functional. A great thing to add to an historic medical exhibition or collection.
