This is a collectible antique Ritter Multi-Purpose Exam Surgical Operating Table Chair. This piece of medical nostalgia is from the office of a general practitioner. It is motorized and adjusts into a plethora of positions. I believe the table to be from the 1940′s. It appears in good shape given the age. The padding is all in place and is not torn. This would be a great acquisition for a medical school or museum. The overall length of the chair is about 76″ X 60″(but the size changes with the position of the chair). Also included are 4 other office pieces. A Burton ultraviolet examining liight with magnifier. A Bovie Coagulator with foot pedal. An exam/surgury light that does not work when plugged in. Here is a set of vintage dental instruments inside of a box labeled Electrical Instruments for the Ritter Unit Equipment and marked Ritter Company, Inc. Some of the instruments are marked as made by Ritter and some by Burton and some unlabeled but assumed to be one or the other. In the first photo you see instruments in the box and some out of the box. The ones shown out of box are assumed to be Burton and the ones in the box are assumed to be Ritter. One of the Burton instruments (shown in the final two photos) shows a patent date of 1934. It looks to me that these once had a power source and that they may have been attached to the black cylinder that looks like it has a reostat built into it. I think this power source would have allowed these instruments to function as a tiny flashlight or mirror with flashlight and a couple of attachments look like they could have been used for cauterization during surgery. The box measures about 4 1/2 x 6 x 1. I have no way of knowing for sure what these are but they seem to represent early use of electricity in dental work. Hello you are looking at 3 Ritter Dental Chairs. They are Hydraulic over Electric. I would say they are from around 1950. The Chairs need some work. They have recently been taken out of the Warehouse and are now on a trailer Covered. The First Beige one in Photo 1 works rather well. The Orange Chair Does Function however needs the Cord fixed and Probably Oil Changed. The Last Beige Chair Needs oil Added or Changed. If the Chairs need O- Rings or Other parts which they May. I have used these people in the Past. I have tried to be as descriptive as I can. Also I can only fit 12 Pictures purr listing. This was my dads dental chair from his own dental practice. He had his practice since around 1962. All hydraulics work and adjustment levers as well. Height adjustment works exceptionally well. Side arms fold down for easy entry. The material it is covered in is in excellent condition and I believe is original. Base has a few scratches from normal use as expected. All levers and components are built extremely well and heavy duty. It looks like a screw or two has been replaced along the way. Please see photos for condition and message us if you have any questions. I hate to get rid of it but it is too big to pass on to my sons and they have no use for it. Works, goes up and down by foot pedal, tilts spins adjusts every which way, tried to show that in photos. Could use cosmetic restoration, paint, plating, seat cover. Was missing the head rest which I was able to steal off another chair. Excellent for display in your man cave, use as a barber, dentist, doctor, tattoo artist and so many others!
