Nova Presmeter Sphygmomanometer, Germany No. This listing is for a vintage “Presameter” portable blood pressure machine /. Made in Germany by NOVA, No. 20269 with a “Tycos” blood pressure cuff pump. Comes in its original heavy metal case for transportation – likely when doctors used to make house calls. Case measures about 13.5″ long x 4.25″ wide x 2″ tall when closed up, or 13.5″ tall when propped open. The hand pump is a little flat and has a tear in it, but actually still works to pump up the cuff – and release valve works to release the air afterward. The numbers on the device are very clear and readable. The case has some discolorations here and there and is a little dusty, but overall it opens, props open, closes nicely when the items inside are nicely folded / wrapped up. The velcro on the cloth cuff covering is still good, though the cloth itself is a little faded and discolored. Overall a great display piece – perfect for a vintage medical device fanatic, or would make an excellent prop for photos, etc. Ultimately, this is an UNTESTED device, I know the case opens, stays open / props up nicely, closes well, locks closed nicely, the bubble goes up and down, and that the cuff does pump up and down – but I do NOT know if it actually can read a proper blood pressure.
