The box has anice blue velvet interior, The knife itself has a threaded hole in assuming its for a handle when using this surgical tool. This is dated to pre WW2. RARE 1880 Antique Cabinet Photo, CHILD HOLDING MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, Died 11 Months

This one was taken no newer than 1880 or so. On the reverse is written, in early script, Charlie Dewitt Richer. Age 11 months when dead. He looks about 6 – 8 months old in the picture, or taken no more than 3 months before his death.
