Vintage Medical Equipment

Some were quite old and others were 20th century. Since Johns Hopkins was THE major hospital through the centuries, there were quite a few rare medical instruments to find. First is a Very Rare Aesculap Surgical Digit cutter. It is missing a screw but can be fixed easily… You can see the open hole, but it is in good condition otherwise. It is 15 in length and weighty. The other instruments are a glass fermentation tube with glass foot in good condition, Forcep a little rust, Metal Syringe tough to open, nasal dilator, surgical sponge tweezers and a pump aerator that sits in a jar which I do not have.

We are offering an antique field surgery kit in the original box, which measures about 17″ x 5.75″ x 2. This incredible kit was used by Dr. Fleckenstine of Philadelphia around the turn of the century. This kit includes such tools as scalpels, forceps, pliers, and a trocar, among others. Not all the original pieces are present, but the kit would still be very functional for field surgery. This piece is the perfect addition to any collection. The Luer a Paris company was famous for their high quality medical instruments, and both the box and instruments themselves are marked with their name. Very good condition with expected age-related wear. Some of the original pieces have been swapped or are missing. The metal has some wear and rust. Antique hand drill from mid to late 1800s made of plated steel, it has a spiral Archimedes center twist with a pivot at the top to drill, the handle unscrews for bit storage but it has no bits. Measure 8.5 long and works great still, such a cool simple mechanism and made so beautifully too. See photos for the exact item you will receive.
